What our coaches are saying…

I did Allstar cheerleading for 16 years, with four of those seasons spent with SCX. Right after high school, I made the jump from athlete to coach, and I was so excited when Gabe and Cara offered me a spot. Transitioning from athlete to coach in such a fun and rewarding sport has been an amazing experience. After years of learning and growing in the sport, I’ve discovered a new passion for coaching that I never expected. I love being able to share the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained with my athletes, helping them navigate their own journey in the sport. Watching them improve their skills, face challenges, and gain confidence, both inside and outside the gym, has brought me so much joy. It’s incredible to see them grow not only as athletes but as individuals, learning lessons that extend far beyond cheerleading. The bond between coaches and athletes is really something special and something I will never take for granted—it’s built on trust, respect, and working together to push past limits. Being part of their journey and seeing them shine—whether it’s in competition or in life—is what keeps me excited about coaching. I’m so grateful to have found my way back to SCX, and I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.
-Coach Karsen

I cheered at SCX for 6 years. I cheered at Xtreme when I was younger for 4 years then we decided to cheer closer to home, after following my dreams, my cheer career flipped upside down and I decided to quit cheer all together. This was something I never imagined I would have to do. During this time my older sister Karsen started coaching at Xtreme, so I started to come with her for something to do. The last practice before a competition a girl got hurt, while I was sitting on the bench watching. I immediately knew I could do it. I ended up getting to finish the season on retro that year. In the few short months I was back at Xtreme my love for cheer came back again. I will forever be grateful I got the opportunity to cheer for Xtreme again. I then finished out my 16 year cheer career at Xtreme. Being an athlete at xtreme was an experience like no other. Gabe and Cara cared about not only my well being as an athlete but my well being as an individual. My years cheering at Xtreme will be cherished forever as those were some of the best year of my life. When I came back to Xtreme for my senior and super senior year in just those 2 short years I made friendship that will last a life time. I knew there was no way I could step way from Xtreme after only being back for 2 years, that’s why the decision to coach was so easy. I have now been coaching at SCX for 5 years. Coaching is an incredible fulfilling experience for me. There is something so special and rewarding that comes with coaching. The excitement of seeing your athletes grow, not just in skills but also in confidence, is one of the most rewarding aspects. Coaching cheerleading is all about building strong relationships with the athletes. It’s inspiring to see them push past their limits, support each other, and develop life long friendships. It is also exciting to be part of their journey, watching them not only gain new skills but also important life skills like leadership, discipline and perseverance. Coaching at SCX is a way for me to make a positive impact on the athletes lives, and that’s something I deeply enjoy and will never take for granted! Xtreme has and always will be my safe place and my home away from home!
